The Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park extends over an area of around 6 .796 hectares belonging to the villages of Kastelruth, Völs am Schlern and Tiers. The Schlern Mountain, which gives its name to the park, is a massif typical to the Western Dolomites and a symbol of South Tyrol. Also part of the nature park are the mountain forests around Tiers, Völs and Seis as well as the valley Tschamintal which forks off from Tiers. In 2003 the Nature Park was enlarged in the municipality of Tiers: since then the massif of the Rosengarten has become part of the Nature Park. |
